The legend of the 4 Kings is a mysterious one. That begins in a mysterious land. Created by a mysterious Fox.
The Fennix was a peculiar creature, one of sandy colored fur and ears like a bat's. Eyes were prominent and bright, large but innocent. Yet, he was armored with tooth and claw, and was cunning in his ways.
He was sent by a wizard of an Azul Cobra to travel to the Desert of Dilalou. So, he took off towards the east, challenging a Side Winder as he went. The serpent was quick but the Fennix quicker, so as he entered the Desert of Dilalou, the serpent sunk eternally into the sand.
Before the Fennix was an oasis of remarkable beauty; for the water met sand, and sand became limestone canyons. Limestone Canyons eroded to soil, sweet and earthly. And finally, in the center of it all, frost-bitten permafrost shot up into dagged, frozen crystals that penetrated the heavens. It is said that the Fennix climbed up to the crystal top, and came to sleep. When he awoke, he was presented with 4 Kings, one of each element, awaiting his approval.
The First King was of the water. For a Jaguarundi stood before him, blue in color and eyes coral and golden as the reefs hidden below it's blue blanket.
The Second King was of the sand, for a Serval presented himself before the Fennix. His fur was the color of burning Arabian sands, and spots the color of burning charcoal. His eyes were a haunting silvery-gold, faded and ghostly in appearance.
The Third King was of the limestone canyons, therefore an Ocelot stood before him. His fur was the color of burnt sediment, but his marking reflected greens, purples, and orange. They vibrated with fluorescence, as his eyes, the color of lilac, blurred in the sunshine.
The Fourth King was a smoked chocolate, with black scars crossing his legs; for he was a Caracal. His eyes were deceiving but beautiful, and fire burned behind his pupils.
Each were par in skill. The Fennix could not decide who reigned supreme, so he did not respond. Therefore, every morning when the Fennix awoke, the 4 Kings would be presented before him, awaiting his answer. The centuries passed, and the Fennix's days became limited. To the day he died, he did not tell who would reign 'or the land. Therefore, a confrontation was necessary.
The four met on their elements and demonstrated their powers to signify grace, skill, intelligence, and strength. Only then, did they realize they were in fact on par, and they were equal in each other's eyes. Therefore, they kept their Oasis united, the Oasis of Dilalou, and kept the virtues of humbleness and equality true, instead of falling to ruin like so many others had.
They had mastered the art of being humble, fair, and kind where others would have turned to greed and hungry for power. All from the single lesson of a Fennix, sent by a wizard of an Azul Coba.
