Akita Kennel

Also known as the Japanese Akita,Akita Inu and Shishi Inu, the Akita comes in two variations. The American Akita and the Japanese Akita. It is a spitz breed like the Siberian husky and Chow Chow. Courageous,strong and spirited, the Akita is considered Japans national dog and is used as a police dog and guard dog. It was used in dogfights for nearly 3 centuries and almost disappeared. Today dogfights are prohibited and the Akita is an affectionate,highly prized pet.
