What I Can Guarantee:
-All dogs are equipped with their appropriate accessories
-All are vaccinated and gene tested
-In top health
-Registered with their respective Cassos
-Have an accurate count of their good and bad days *since they came into the rescue*
-Are at least level 5
What I Can't Guarantee:
-Their levels meet their ages and vice versa
-Their sport fits their aptitude or that their aptitudes matches their stats, etc. For most of the dogs, those decisions are made to their breeders and/or previous owners. So they are "jinxed" before I get them.
What the Cost of Adoption Covers:
-Buying food and accessories
-Training costs
-Registration
-Stocking my clinic
The Adoption Process
1. The potential adopter contacts me with the dog(s)that he/she wants to adopt and/or hold.
2. I perform a kennel check, looking at all of his/her dogs and seeing how well kept they are. If the dogs are satisfactory, I will message the person back and say that he/she passed my check and can now take my interview. If the kennel check shows that the owner isn't up to my standards, I'll message the person and say that he/she doesn't qualify to be an adopter.
3. After the player agrees to the interview, I will give him/her a small questionnaire to fill out so he/she can explain why he/she wants the dog(s), what he/she will do with the dog(s), etc.
4. If his/her answers prove to me that the dog(s) will be treated according to my standards, I’ll transfer the dog(s) over to them.
The kennel check and questionnaire are required for every adopter. Once you have established yourself as trustworthy, you may pass the kennel check and/or questionnaire, but that is up to my discretion.
*My denial is final and permanent unless the kennel is able to prove to me that they have truly changed to meet my standards*
What I Expect from Adopters and Look for in Kennel Checks:
-To be on at least every other day, or to be in the habit of locking their dogs whenever they know they can't be on.
-No overbreeding females
-No retiring dogs just to get rid of them/to clean out their kennels.
-The dogs have all of the items (bowls, beds, toys, etc.) and that they are appropriate for the dogs' aptitudes, sports, and levels.
-The dogs are taken care of with full health; locked dogs don't have to be full health, as they are locked, but the fewer less-than-perfectly-healthy locked dogs, the better.
-The kennels aren't stuffed full already; this shows that the owner knows how to avoid biting more than he/she can chew and will have as many dogs as he/she is capable of caring for. Smaller kennels are the exception to this.
-Any other telltale signs that the owner knows what he/she is doing (good presentations, higher levels, etc.) that are up to my discretion to discern.
I will bring up any topics of concern before I dismiss you outright, unless the conditions are deemed too horrible. Please do not be offended if I ask why none of your level 3 dogs are equipped, for instance, or why none of them have chews. I am merely seeing if there is a reason behind my concerns, a method to your madness you could say. If the reasons are acceptable (e.g., not knowing that chews give your dog 50% condition), I will transfer the dog(s) over.
Holds
Only dogs at or higher than level 5 can be adopted. Other dogs in my rescue are unavailable, but can be held. Holding a dog gives you the first chance to adopt before anyone else. Please contact me to hold a dog.
If you chose not to adopt the dog after holding, but before he is eligible for adoption, then the fee (see below) will be returned. But if you decide not to adopt after the dog levels up to 5, then the fee will be considered a donation. By asking me to hold him, you agree to these terms, and I will remind you of the terms before the dog is officially held.
