Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Romy and I live in the Netherlands. My best friend and first dog is Jinx, who was found dumped with a litter of newborn pups by an animal welfare project in Turkey and has been with us since 2015. My special interest is village dogs, but I also have a soft spot for all primitive and sighthound breeds – if it is in FCI group 5 or 10, you can bet it makes my heart beat faster! My favourite recognized breed is the Ibizan Hound.
Callendar Kennels (prefix AS CK) is located on a private property in the lowlands of Scotland. My initial main focus was Skye Terriers, but after returning from a hiatus, it shifted to Ibizan Hounds. I’ve made the choice to have only three kennels so that I can focus on a limited number of dogs at the same time. Dogs in the Main Breeds House are part of a quality gene project, usually the most recent generation. The other two kennels hold competing dogs that are not or no longer meant for breeding. These dogs come from older generations of my own gene projects or from the sale listings with varying multipliers all the way from under 1.000x to over 1.500x, and are showed to the best of their ability for fun, while also helping me with the performer and diversifier achievements.
Ibizan Hounds (AGI)
I started my Ibizan Hound quality gene project in August ’24, with 10 female and 10 male store-bought dogs. I’m working towards lala, 24HH, and agiagi agiagi in that order, with a focus on aptitudes for flyball and agility. I won’t be using any outside dogs in this project.
Each generation is given a theme and each dog a name that links back to this theme. All themes for this project will be loosely inspired by the Middle East and South Asia (which is a reference to the theme that the starter dogs had).
