So, who exactly is Ned you ask?
Well he started out as just your average, ordinary Scottish deerhound. He was tall and thin with wiry unkempt fur. He had a handsome brindled coat. So, what exactly happened? What went wrong? I assure you we did not feed him radioactive kibble or do any experiments on him. It all started when he ate something pink out in the yard... Well whatever that thing was, there’s no turning back now because the eye-killing colors have been passed down to his pups!
And here he is... the one...the only...
So here we are, taking care of these exotic dogs no matter how much it burns our eyes. Ned is more than just a bright deerhound now; he is evolving into a new breed: The Nedhound! And we are dedicated to preserving this incredibly rare breed. LONG LIVE THE NED!!!
The Exotic Nedhound breed standard according to the Nedhound Fanciers Association:
All official Nedhounds MUST be related to the great, 1st generation, progenitor Ned in some way.
They must look just like Scottish deerhounds: tall, thin, narrow head with rose ears etc.
And lastly, (but not least) Nedhounds MUST be brightly colored. If they do not have a painful, neon highlighter colored coat, they do not correctly fit the standards. So far, the certified colors are:
Purple
Bright Red
Hot Pink
Yellow
Lime Green
As well as the standard colors, other accepted colors include:
Party (Multicolored),
Dark Neds (Black),
and Ghost Neds (Translucent).
Please note that all Dark Neds must be approved by the Nedhounds Fancier Association (NhFA) before being recognized as a Nedhound.
